Herbs to Call in Love

The moment that we truly and deeply love every part of ourselves, is the moment in which we are best poised to give and attract love.

Often when people become disconnected from their inner-selves and intuition, they may find the same patterns of illness or behavior repeating in their lives which can be very discouraging and lead to feelings of frustration and stagnation. Nowhere is this more poignant than in the realm of love and relationships.

Herbs are a wonderful tool with which to nurture self-acceptance and self-love. The Seed SistAs work abundantly with herbal rites and rituals to gently guide people towards a deep connection with their own hearts and authentic selves. Some of our favourite herbs in this instance are:

Rose

The mystical beauty and intoxicating scent of Rose has inspired lovers, artists and poets throughout time. The rose petals and formation are reminiscent of the folds of a woman, the scent is alluring and she seems to hold a mystery within her. She invites you to bury your nose into her and inhale her sweet, soothing scent. Rose invites us to get intimate with our hearts desires, while gently cushioning and soothing the grief around lost loves or past trauma. She is the loving hug of comfort and the sweet scent to connect you to your sensuous desire.

Hawthorn

On a physical level, Hawthorn is wonderful medicine for the heart and cardio-vascular system. Hawthorn supports the arteries that serve the heart, increasing blood flow and strengthening heart function. Hawthorn can also be effective in steadying an irregular heartbeat and regulating blood pressure. We think of Hawthorn as the plant that counsels rhythm. Connecting us the with passionate fire in our hearts accessible when we find our own rhythm in the world – walking our authentic path step by step at our own pace.

Lime Blossom

Lime blossom is a honey-scented bloom that is deeply soothing to the nervous system. A cooling, sedative nervine, Lime can do wonders to soothe anxiety and calm nerves or a fast-beating heart. Lime counsels inner peace and calm, softening and soothing past wounds so that we can engage with the present in clarity and peace.

Lemon balm

Lemon balm’s zesty scent attracts humans and bees alike. She is an immune boosting herb, a calming digestive herb and she offers up-lifting support to the nervous system. Lemon balm is named for Melissa, the nymph from Greek mythology who brought us the honey from the bees. She hid baby Zeus from his murderous father, feeding him milk and honey. This generosity is reflected in Lemon balm, a prolific herb that you can harvest many times in the year (though we prefer her succulent spring and early summer growth). To attract love, we must drown ourselves in its abundance, allowing it to flow freely from and towards us. Lemon balm gifts us the spirit of this generosity.

Attraction Ritual Sacred Bathing with Heart & Soul Tea

For sacred bathing, brew up a large pot of the Rose petal, Lime blossom, Hawthorn blossom, and Lemon Balm tea ( Heart and Soul tea). As you brew it, speak a mantra of healing into it, infusing the water with your positive affirmation. It can be simple: words like – ‘Love, Peace, Healing.’ Or, if you want it to be more specific and tailored to you, you can construct a longer sentence. Eg: ‘ I ask the Rose for love, the hawthorn to find my rhythm, the lime to heal my wounds of rejection and insecurity, bring me peace, attract new love.’ Or “I open my heart to give and receive love.” Your affirmation should be heart-felt and resonate with you.

Add the strong tea to your hot bath. Light candles, listen to relaxing music and rest in your Sacred Bath for a while, using the time to switch off your critical mind and connect gently and lovingly with your heart.

After the bath, dry yourself and give yourself a massage with some Rose body cream. Take your time and pay special attention to your own body, give thanks for your life and the amazing opportunity to BE.
